BATA 1 Pitching Machine Specs

The Bata-1 is a baseball pitching machine designed to deliver consistently accurate pitches for batting practice. The repetition of machine-consistent pitches helps build timing, bat control and hand-eye coordination. Pitching speed of this unit is suitable for young players 10 and under in Little League or a similar organization, where most pitchers do not exceed 50 miles per hour. Batting practice with a machine is best conducted at 5 miles per hour to 10 miles per hour slower than the live pitches in a game. The Bata-1 pitches both hardballs and softballs.
  1. Pitching Speed

    • The BATA-1 is adjustable to deliver pitches in a range from 20 miles per hour to 62 miles per hour over a distance of 46 feet, the standard span from the pitcher's mound to home plate in Little League baseball. Because the BATA-1 is designed for novice players in youth leagues, it throws only straight, level fastballs. Pro models like the BATA-2 deliver curveballs and sliders, as well as fastballs at speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour.

    Balls

    • The BATA-1 pitches both standard leather hardballs and softballs as well as the custom dimpled balls produced specifically for pitching machines.

    Pitching Wheel

    • The internal pitching wheel is made of non-marking soft rubber bonded to an aluminum wheel and vulcanized. Maximum speed of the pitching wheel is 3,200 revolutions per minute.

    Power Requirements

    • The BATA-1 requires 110 to 120 volts AC. It may also be run off a generator if a power outlet is not available at the practice field. The generator should supply a minimum of 600 watts of 110 to 120 volts AC with a current draw of three amps running and six amps starting.
