Volleyball Gifts for a Coach
-
Photo Gifts
-
Make sure your team gets a great team picture taken at the beginning of its season. This can be a formal team photo with everyone lined up in uniform, or a more casual photo with the team enjoying each other's company. Make sure the coach is in the photo as well. Use this photo to create a personalized gift for the coach at the end of the season. Frame the photo in a frame with a large white matte border and have the players sign the matte area along with their jersey numbers in the frame. You can also have novelty items like photo calendars, mugs and T-shirts made with the team photo to give as a gift.
Notebook
-
Have everyone on the team pitch in to buy the coach a nice, new coaching notebook. Make sure it is a large book with plenty of room for planning practices and game lineups and keeping score during games. Look for a shop or online retailer who sells these items with personalization details and have it print the coach's name on the front. It will be especially meaningful to use the name that the coach is called by the players; for example, "Coach Harris" or "Mr. G."
Autograph Ball
-
Buy a standard volleyball from a sporting goods store. Make sure the ball is white and has very little printing on it to allow the most room for autographs. Write the team name and year on the ball first, then have all the players sign the ball. If there is room, have them include their jersey number or a short message. Use colorful permanent markers for a better look that will last longer.
Custom Apparel
-
Purchase some team apparel for the coach to wear during games or just to show off his team. If it is a school team, the bookstore or athletic boosters should be able to provide you with some apparel. Otherwise, you can go to a local print shop and have a T-shirt, sweatshirt or hat made with the team name. Try to get a piece of clothing or accessory that is in the team colors so the coach will always match the players during games.
