Instructions

Follow the ball with your eyes at all times. Estimate the location of the balls descent and begin moving toward the area. If the ball falling slightly behind you, back peddle until you are in the correct area. If the ball is falling far behind you, turn around and run full speed toward the ball. If it is falling in front of you, move toward the ball by running until you are under it.

    • 2

Move so that your body is directly under the ball as it begins to descend.

    • 3

Raise the glove so it is directly below the fly ball. Keep the glove slightly in front of your face and a little higher than the head. Face the fingers upward with the palm of the hand facing the ball. The elbow on the glove hand should be bent at about a 90-degree angle.

    • 4

Prepare to catch the ball. Support the gloved hand, by placing your other hand directly behind the glove.

    • 5

Catch the fly ball by watching it fall into the glove. Immediately squeeze the glove shut and place the empty hand on top of the ball.
