Snowmobile X Games

While many extreme sports fans follow racing and stunts performed on motorcycles, snowmobiles are also used to participate in extreme competitions. Snowmobile races can take place only in climates that feature snow or areas with simulated winter environments. While not all snowmobile fans can participate in the sport, there are still ways to enjoy the action. Video game enthusiasts have multiple options when looking for a way to simulate snowmobile racing and stunt competitions.
  1. "SnoCross Championship Racing"

    • Crave and UDS released "SnoCross Championship Racing" for the Sony PlayStation and Sega Dreamcast in August 2000. Players are challenged to ride their snowmobiles in several racing formats. "SnoCross Championship Racing" features modes that allow players to compete in one race or a series of races. Racers can also vie with one another to set course records for the fastest times, and multiple racers can compete at once to get first place.

    "SnoCross 2: Featuring Blair Morgan"

    • Crave and Sensory Sweep released "SnoCross 2: Featuring Blair Morgan" for the Sony PlayStation 2 and Microsoft Xbox in February 2007. "SnoCross 2" players can choose between a group of racers including professional snowmobile racer Blair Morgan, or they can create their own character. Those who create their own character can alter the racer's appearance, clothing and snowmobile of choice. Players can then compete in single-player or multiplayer races.

    "Kawasaki Snowmobiles"

    • Bold Games and Data Design Interactive released "Kawasaki Snowmobiles" for Nintendo Wii, Sony PlayStation 2, and PC in May 2008. Players may choose between several real-life Kawasaki snowmobiles and participate in races or stunt challenges. During races, players must try to finish a track faster than their opponents without getting derailed by walls and obstacles. The better a player does, the more extra racers, accessory options and snowmobile choices will become available.

    "Ski-Doo Snowmobile Challenge"

    • Valcon Games and ColdWood Interactive teamed up to make "Ski-Doo Snowmobile Challenge," a game that was released for Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii in March 2009. In "Snowmobile Challenge," players must combine stunts with racing across tracks in multiple countries. Players who successfully perform stunts are able to gain special items and power-ups during their races. Players can also compete against others around the globe by trying an online match for any of the three gaming systems that feature "Snowmobile Challenge."
