1
Obtain a rectangular sheet of Styrofoam 55 inches long, by 24 inches wide by 3 inches thick. You may need to use a shaping knife to fashion the rectangle.
-
2
Style the front of the board. Select an end that will be the front. Round off the corners of the front to create a U shape. Draw the cuts with a marker before making them. The front should have a nice round curve, not sharp. Use sandpaper to smooth down the material afterward. Each side should be symmetrical.
-
3
Draw a line that starts half way down the board and continues to the end of it. The start of the line should be at the edge of the board and the end of the line should be 2 inches in from the edge on that same side. This will taper off the end. Cut it with the shaping knife and sand it to make it smooth.
-
4
Repeat Step 3 on the other side.
-
5
Turn the board over, so that the bottom is facing up. Sand down the front of the board so that the tip of the board is the thinnest and it gets progressively thicker as it goes down. The thinnest point should be 1.5 inches thick and it should go back to 3 inches (the normal thickness) about 1 foot into the board.
-
6
Paint the board with waterproof paints to customize it. Wait for the paint to dry. Test it out.
