1
Decide if you want the full front ATV helmet. Determine whether the ATV helmet will be a full front coverage design, an adjustable front, a removable front, or just a helmet. This decision is needed to create the base sketch of the ATV helmet.
-
2
Include all views on the sketchpad including with face shield up. Draw the image of the ATV helmet on a sketchpad in views including all the options, like with the face shield and without the face shield illustration. Create a sketch for the front view, side view left, side view right, back view, and top view.

The outer shell and the inner lining are the most important design elements of an ATV helmet. Create the outer shell and inner lining to meet, preferably exceed, the current DOT standard for American ATV helmets. American ATV helmets can be made to meet the Snell standard or not, the Snell standard creates a stiffer helmet and there is debate on whether this standard is too stiff for certain collision impacts. In Europe, create the outer shell and inner lining to meet or exceed the current ECE standards.

Designing the artwork for ATV helmets is enjoyable work. Plan, design, and sketch the shell artwork on photocopies of the ATV helmet views. Keep one copy the original and final ATV helmet design plan in black and white and create the artwork and color sketches on the photocopies. In a line with five designs, you will need to create five different sets of designs and color combinations for the ATV helmets.

5
Incorporate the ATV helmet artwork into the ATV helmet labels and packaging. Design and order labels, shipping boxes, and packaging with either your company logo or that compliment the ATV helmet artwork. Creatively done, the logo and artwork will complement each other.
