How to Be an NTPA Super Farm Tractor Puller

The National Tractor Pullers Association, otherwise known as the NTPA, is the official association for the sport of tractor pulling in the United States. The NTPA has different categories and levels of competition and holds competitions throughout the year, culminating in an annual national competition. To enter the NTPA's super farm tractor class, there are several steps to take before you will be ready to compete.

      Become an official member of the NTPA. You are required to be a member of the association to compete in competitions.

      Obtain a copy of the official tractor pullers rulebook. The tractor pullers rulebook sets out guidelines for the super farm tractor pulling division and lists which modifications are allowed and prohibited in competition. You must comply with the rules and guidelines set out in the rulebook to compete with your tractor.

      Modify your tractor to compete in tractor pulling contests. Modifications will depend on the type of tractor you have and the amount of money you want to spend on aftermarket alterations. The NTPA rulebook lists acceptable and unacceptable modifications. Unacceptable modifications will lead to disqualification

      Take your tractor to an official in NTPA tractor competition. Enter your tractor in the super farm tractor pulling class by registering it in the competion as per NTPA rules, pay required fees and compete.
