How to Build a Wakeboard Slider

Wakeboard sliders are the equivalent to skate parks and other obstacle courses in extreme sports. You can build your own to take out on the water and enjoy more extreme wakeboarding than you ever have before.

Instructions

    • 1

Decide on the length of the slider you are going to build. Shoot for at least 20 feet for safety reasons. You also want one end to dip down into the water for a smoother transition.

    • 2

Cut the PVC pipe. Two lengths of the PVC pipe to run the length of the slider and 4 smaller pieces for the ends.

    • 3

Insert the metal bar through 4 evenly spaced floats. This is going to keep the floats in the water. Place the PVC pipes along the floats. Remember to leave an unobstructed gab between them for the fin of the wakeboard to pass through. Attach the smaller ends to the ends of each pipe to create a downward position. The seam should be on the descent of the slider (so you won't catch your wakeboard on the lip).

Bolt the pipes down to the floats to secure them in place. Give them a little shake to make sure they are on good and will not come off during use. You may want to stand on them with your wakeboard to make sure they are going to support your weight.

Attach ropes to each of the end floats and attach the other end of the ropes to concrete blocks. When placed in the water, these will keep the slider from floating away or moving around.
