How to Attach Fins to Wakeboards

Riding with fins gives you much more control than riding without them. A wakeboard comes with fins and the necessary equipment for attachment, so by following the instructions, you can attach fins quickly and easily. Even without instructions, the fins can be attached because the board comes with pre-drilled holes and a screws that hold the fins on. Just remember that the pointed edge of the fins should face toward the center of the board with the taller, round ends facing the edges of the board.

      Lay the board down top-side up and line the holes in the bottom of the fin up with the pre-drilled holes in the board. Remember that the thicker and rounder ends should face the edges of the board.

      Apply the washer -- if included -- and hold the fin underneath the board while turning the screw into the board and fin with the screwdriver. When finished, twist in the other screw.

      Attach all of the other fins in the same manner as the first one. Check each one to make sure that it fits snugly.
