How to Make a 360-Degree Back Scratcher

Wakeboarding combines some of the best elements of surfing and water skiing into one fast and intense sport. While wakeboarding is generally easy for most beginners to do adequately, the real fun comes in learning bigger and better tricks to challenge yourself and impress your friends. One of the more advanced wakeboarding tricks is the 360-degree backscratcher. It combines a 360-degree spin with a backscratcher, which involves flexing your legs to pull the board up toward your back.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut the board outside of both wakes and prepare to cut across both wakes. A lot of speed is not required, as it is better to come into the wake at a relaxed pace.

    • 2

Hit the wake with the handle in one hand and straighten your knees to get more air.

    • 3

Spin your body by shifting your body weight while at the same time moving the handle toward your back and bending your knees to achieve the backscratcher.

    • 4

Pass the handle to your other hand and begin to spot your landing as you complete the spin.

    • 5

Bend your knees as you land and grab hold of the handle with both hands, if necessary.
