Stretches to Help You Grow
-
The Wall Bridge
-
For this stretch, you need a wall with some clearance in front. Stand with your back to the wall, about 2 feet away, and put your hands behind your head, your fingers against the wall. Slowly "walk" your way down the wall as far as you can, using only your hands. Once you've gone down as far as you can go, "walk" your way back up the wall.
Standing Stretch
-
Any number of standing stretches can be performed to increase your height, though the most basic one is simply to stand straight in a room with a tall ceiling, or possibly outside, and extend your arms as high into the air as you can. Stand on your toes and hold the position as long as you can. Return to a normal standing position, then repeat.
Leg Stretch
-
For this stretch, seat yourself in a chair with a fair amount of clearance in front of you. Clutch the back rest and stretch one of your legs out as much as possibly can, thrusting it into the air. Keep it in that position while keeping your back straight. Drop the leg when you get tired and do the same with your other leg. If you want a challenge, pick something in the distance to touch with your toes before you drop your leg.
Toe Touch
-
This exercise stretches your spine as well as your legs. Sit on the ground with your legs stretched in front of you and reach forward as far as you can. The idea is to touch your toes--or, at least try to touch your toes. Even if you can't, don't worry; your body is getting the stretch it needs to work on your height.
