1
Wear appropriate clothing for practice. If you want to try a realistic situation, wear normal clothing and plan a practice session. This way you get the feel for the stress involved in a real attack and how different shoes might affect your technique.
-
2
Attend training or licensing seminars. You may not be able to locate a Krav Maga training facility close to where you live. Seminars quickly teach you the basics, allow you to focus on specific areas of training and take place at various locations throughout the year.
-
3
Watch professionals execute moves until you understand each component involved. Practice the move slowly until you remember all the components.
-
4
Use realistic training situations by having a trained partner attack you using common chokes, bearhugs and grabs. Defend yourself from the attack but make sure you pull your kicks and punches so you don't hurt your partner.
-
5
Practice disarming various weapons like a knife, guns and sticks from a partner. Keep in mind that Krav Maga uses fighting skills and defensive tactics.
-
6
Stay fit by using Krav Maga techniques in a cardio workout. A heavy bag allows you to follow through on kicks and punches while you combine techniques to get your heart rate into the optimal target range.
