Instructions

    • 1

Go to an online kung fu training website such as Free Online Kung Fu, Kung Fu Fitness and Defense or eLanguage School.

    • 2

Open the first lesson available. Some sites offer lessons broken into belt categories, with white belts being the most basic. Others arrange lessons by the ease of the technique.

    • 3

Read the steps to completing the technique. Note any warnings being presented.

    • 4

Watch the accompanying video to the technique at least five times. Pay attention to how the martial artist moves not only his hands and feet but his entire body.

    • 5

Set your computer on a desk or table so that it is at waist level.

    • 6

Place a full length mirror next to your computer desk. You should be able to see your full body in the mirror.

    • 7

Clear the area around your computer so you are able to move around without hitting anything.

    • 8

Play the video of the technique you wish to practice. Back away from your computer.

    • 9

Mimic the onscreen actions. Pretend the computer is a mirror and the person onscreen is your reflection, move as he does.

    • 10

Repeat the video and practice the move again. Repeat until you are comfortable on your own.

    • 11

Look in a full length mirror and practice the technique without looking at the video. Note how your body moves. Repeat the technique until your reflection in the mirror resembles the video you have watched.

    • 12

Move on to the next technique.
