Iron Vest training usually lasts for 100 days and includes a repetitive series of stretching and standing exercises that over time are meant to protect vital organs by strengthening the body. Iron Vest students are prepared by highly qualified instructors to tolerate a higher level of pain with a minimum of damage to the body.

Iron Vest training can be performed on two levels depending upon the procedures of the individual martial arts schools. Some schools require students to perform spiritual and physical exercises to strengthen their muscles, connective tissue, and inner selves. Other schools will go further after the strengthening exercises and prepare the students' bodies for possible attacks by hitting the pupils with sticks or bags.
Considerations

Iron Vest is mainly practiced in martial arts schools that offer extensive Kung Fu classes. Fees for the training package are usually quote-based and available only when the school has sufficient qualifying students. Most schools will also require the students to conform to a special diet and lifestyle while undertaking the training.
