1
Turn the pan-arm counterclockwise. This is the arm that spins the Tasco scope on its tripod. Turn the scope counterclockwise until it comes off the rod. Dip a chamois cloth into some solvent, and wipe the full length of the rod; wipe the threads where the handle comes off. Wipe the inside of the handle on the threads.

2
Pinch and move the eye-piece focus. If loose, wipe out the seam with the chamois-solvent corner. Push the eye-piece into its housing.
-
3
Pull the eye-piece's rubber gasket up and out. Check the sides for cracks or rips. If present, fill the cracks with the clear epoxy. Do not let the epoxy enter the seam.

4
Tighten the screws on the tripod connections and pan-arm. Ensure that all connections are tight and in proper working order. Do not over-tighten. Turn the screws clockwise until you feel resistance. Stop when the resistance becomes rigid.

5
Dip a chamois cloth in the lens cleaner. Wipe the scope's lenses using a circular motion. Let the lenses dry, and then spray them with compressed air.
