How to Verify the Authenticity of Swarovski Binoculars

Like the famous Swarovski crystals, Swarovski binoculars are world-renowned for their premium quality. For avid birders, they are considered the gold standard because their lenses produce the best clarity. However, with that quality comes a high price. Outdoor enthusiasts may save for decades to purchase a pair of Swarovski lenses, so it's important to determine if the product offered is genuine. A few simple guidelines can help potential buyers determine if the Swarovski binoculars they are considering are authentic.

Instructions

    • 1

Look for the Swarovski name and logo engraved onto the optic barrels. If the name or logo is on a sticker, the product is a fake.

    • 2

Find the serial number--usually under the focus wheel or near the hinge of the frame--engraved on the binocular. Models produced after 1998 will start with a letter followed by nine numbers. The serial numbers on older models do not follow a standardized format, but all Swarovski binoculars will have a serial number.
