Windsurfing Vacations in Aruba

Aruba offers windsurfing for all ages and skill levels. Booking a windsurfing vacation is easy, as many windsurfing centers offer complete packages that include hotels, equipment and lessons.

  1. Aruba Sailboard Vacations

    • Aruba Sailboard Vacations offers a complete windsurfing vacation that includes lodging and equipment. Windsurfing equipment is available with different sail and board sizes. Boards available for experienced windsurfers include Exocet and Fanatic Boards, in sixteen sizes. HiFly Revo's and Bic Melody's are available for beginner windsurfers. Sails are by Gaastra and come in several models including Manic Wave, Poison and Swift. Beginner sails are also available. Equipment can be rented for as little as 2 hours, or as long as a week, with prices ranging from $35 to $350 as of 2010. Lessons are also available, including group, private and beginner packages.

      Windsurfers are lodged at the Aruba Beach Villas, which features 31 private villas on the beach that offer free windsurfing from January 7 to April 15.

    Vela Aruba Windsurf Resorts

    • The Vela Aruba Windsurf Center will match windsurfers with equipment based on skill level and preference. Small boards are Wave or Freestyle and medium-sized boards are the Freeride brand. There are also large transitional boards, long boards and beginner boards available. Lessons are available daily at 9:30 am, 11:00 am, 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm. Group lessons for up to four windsurfers are available for $50 an hour, five lessons are available for $200 and private lessons are $125 an hour. Classes at their windsurfing "college" range from an introduction for beginners to the fundamentals of looping. Vela Aruba Windsurf Resorts offers accommodations at several hotel resorts located near the Vela Aruba Windsurf Center, including the Aruba Marriott, Aruba Holiday Inn and private guest suites.     Aruba Boardsailing

    • Aruba Boardsailing has its own Windsurfing Center with boards and sails available. The center also offers shaded tables and chairs, showers and a shop selling drinks, t-shirts and other items needed for a day of windsurfing. Equipment provided includes Exocet boards and Gaastra sails. Rental times range from one hour for $20 to a seven-day rental for $245. A 2-hour beginner lesson is $50 per person and a 6-hour beginner course is $135 per person. Intermediate and advanced lesson packages are available for $60 per person. Lodging is available at Sunset Beach Studios, which offers 10 studio apartments and a house with ocean views. All prices are current as of 2010.
