How to Carry a Windsurf Board
It's big and tricky to carry, but you're not going windsurfing until you've got your board and rig in the water; keep things balanced, and work with the wind.
Things You'll Need
- Life Vests
- Wet Suits
- Windsurf Boards
- Windsurf Rigs
Instructions
-
-
1
Take your board and rig to the water separately.
-
2
Carry the board under your arm at the center point. If the board is too wide, you can hold it by the dagger-board slot. If it is still unwieldy, carry it on top of your head.
-
3
Pick up your rig on the windward (upwind) side.
-
4
Hoist the rig over your head, keeping the mast pointed leeward (downwind). Hold on to the mast and the boom while keeping the clew of your sail leeward.
-
5
Connect your mast to your board at the very edge of the water (accounting for the tide).
-
6
Hold the board and the rig as a single piece, keeping the mast leeward, and carry it into the water.
