How to Replace the Transom Mount on a MerCruiser

Mercruiser is a popular brand of outboard motors, which are mounted on the transom of a boat via a mounting clip. The outboard's mounting clip fits over the transom mount or kick plate. Over time, the transom mount can get rusted or otherwise weakened by the elements. When this occurs, it is best to change the entire transom mount out with a new plate and bolts. An assistant may be needed to helps remove the Mercruiser from the boat.
