How to Adjust the Carb on a 3.5 HP Sea King Outboard
The 3.5 Sea King outboard motor was a small boat motor sold by Montgomery Ward before the company filed for bankruptcy in 2000. The Sea King was manufactured for Montgomery Ward by several companies over time including both Chrysler and Gale. The Sea King does not need repairs all too often. However if the outboard's motor runs a little sluggishly or seems to be idling too high, the carburetor may need to be adjusted. The Sea King has an idle adjustment screw that can be adjusted if the carburetor acts up.
Things You'll Need

Remove the motor cover from the top of the Sea King.

Locate the vacuum port hose on the lower rear section of the carburetor and remove it with a pair of pliers. Use the pliers to connect the vacuum gauge hose to it.

5
Adjust the throttle speed to medium range and then use the screwdriver to adjust the low-speed idle screw until it reaches approximately 750 rpm.
