1
Insert the transverse hull boom through the main hull bracket and lock it in place.
-
2
Insert the transverse hull boom into the starboard outer hull socket. Secure it in place. Repeat this process with the outer port hull.
-
3
Insert the mast into the sail sleeve. If the boat was carried with the sail wrapped around the mast, skip this step.
-
4
Insert the mast through the main hull bracket bushing and seat in the mast step.
-
5
Unfurl the sail. Place the boom crotch against the mast just above the tack downhaul cleat. Make sure the boom is free to swivel. Pull the tack line of the sail tightly downward around the boom and secure it to the the tack downhaul cleat
-
6
Attach the clew to the boom outhaul. Pull the boom outhaul tight and secure the outhaul line to the boom outhaul cleat.
-
7
Tie the sheet to the end of the boom block strap with a bowline knot. Run the sheet down through the main hull swivel block and bring it back up through the boom block on the aft end of the boom. Run the sheet forward through the aft boom block and then forward through the forward boom block. Bring the sheet downward and run it through the mast sheet block. Put the excess on the bottom of the hull in front of the seat where you can reach it while sailing. Tie a figure-of-eight stopper knot in the end of the sheet. If the boat was stored with the sheet in place on the boom, skip this step.
-
8
Adjust the seat for your body.
-
9
Put the boat into the water and use your hand to push the rudder down into sailing position. Your boat is now rigged for sailing.
