How to Get a Bubble Out of a Bodyboard
A bodyboard is a type of short surfboard used for water recreation. Riders lie flat on the bodyboard and ride waves much like surfboarders, but without standing up on the board. Like surfboards, snowboards and other recreational equipment, bodyboards require basic care and maintenance to keep the board in optimal working order. When exposed to direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, bodyboards tend to lose their concave shape and might bubble on the surface. You can fix this problem in a few steps.
Things You'll Need
- Razor blade
- Hot glue gun
- Hot glue sticks
Instructions
-
-
1
Place the bodyboard on a flat surface, such as a workbench or table.
-
2
Slice around the outer edge of the bubble with the razor blade. Cut around half of the bubble. Do not cut around the entire bubble.
-
3
Insert a hot glue stick in the hot glue gun.
-
4
Fill the inside of the bubble with a few strips of hot glue.
-
5
Press down on the board's skin so the hot glue spreads and fills the bubble. Pat the top of the skin and smooth out any creases.
-
6
Cut off any excess glue or foam from around the edges of the filled bubble using the razor blade.
