Academy Broadway #11950 Cabin Tent Instructions

Academy Broadway Corp. makes a range of budget-priced camping products, including tents. Among the tents offered by the company is the 11950, a 9-foot-by-12-foot cabin-style tent. This tent is roomy enough for a midsize group of four and features aluminum poles and a combination of nylon and canvas wall materials. Setting the cabin tent up requires two people to make the job manageable. The tent comes with all items needed to set up, take down and store the tent shelter.

      Take the contents of the tent out of the storage bag and set the poles and stakes to one side. Spread out the main tent body on the ground where you want to set up the tent.

      Assemble the front and rear-side poles. These are the poles that have the slightly V-shaped bends at the top. Push the poles through the pole sleeves running down the front sides of the tent and down the rear sides.

      Push the top pole through the middle sleeve on the ceiling of the tent. With a friend, pull the pole through and attach each end to the sleeve on the V elbow on the side poles. This forms the tent cabin and makes the tent fabric tight.

      Stake out each corner of the tent at the pole-sleeve grommets. Pound each stake into the ground to make it solid and secure in place.

      Remove the stakes and center ceiling pole first when taking down the tent. Remove the poles, break them down and place them into the storage bag. Fold the tent into thirds and then roll it up with the poles in the middle of the roll. Place the rolled tent and poles into the large storage bag. Store it dry, and in a cool dark place.
