Instructions on How to Install a Dometic Ignitor 3850712-01

Being able to store and keep food cold is one of the benefits of having a refrigerator in your RV, whether traveling or camped out. Dometic is a worldwide company that manufactures both RV and marine parts and equipment. The Dometic Ignitor 3850712-01 is a circuit board style variable temperature adjustment device for RV refrigerators. If the temperature control seems to not be working in the RV refrigerator, it means the ignitor circuit board needs to be replaced.

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Replacement ignitor

Instructions

    • 1

      Disconnect the power to the RV refrigerator.

      Slide the RV refrigerator out from its cabinet in order to access the back side of the unit.

      Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the lower panel on the refrigerator.

      Slide the DC element out and remove its lid.

      Use a screwdriver to remove the three screws holding the old ignitor circuit board in place.

      Remove the small wiring harness attached to the old ignitor. Set the new ignitor in place, plug the wiring harness into it and install the three retaining screws to hold it in place.

      Replace the DC element lid and slide the element back inside the body of the unit. Replace the lower panel and its retaining screws.

      Slide the refrigerator back into its cabinet and restore power to the unit.
