How to Mount Neons to a Camper

Adding neon LED light strips to a camper adds visual pizazz as well as safety. Using these light strips makes your camper more visible, letting other drivers see you before it is too late, particularly in fog or at night. Most neon lights are designed to go on the edges, runner-footboards or bumpers. A special adhesive tape is used to affix them to the camper, and most are powered with internal batteries. Before applying neon light strips, check your state's laws regarding the addition of extra lights.

Instructions

    • 1

Using warm soapy water and a sponge, wash the bumper or edge where you want to attach the lights along the bottom sides of the camper. Get all grime and grit off the area to prep it for the neon strip adhesive tape.

    • 2

Peel the backing off the neon light strip's adhesive tape.

    • 3

Attach one end of the adhesive tape to the cleaned camper surface, where you want the lights to start. Slowly work your way along the cleaned edge, being sure to keep the strip straight. Push out any air bubbles under the strip as you apply it to the camper surface.
