How to Install Hanging Storage Bins in a Camper

While your camper can be your home away from home on the road, limited storage space often means leaving some of home's comforts behind. Maximize the vertical space in your camper with hanging storage bins to hold clothes for the entire family, kitchen supplies and linens or camping gear. Organizational supplies are available at local home improvement and discount department stores. Increase your camper's storage as well as add a little luxury to your RV.

Instructions

    • 1

Attach canvas organizer shelves to the closet bar or another hanging clothing bar in your camper. Secure the Velcro strap from the top of the storage unit to the bar. Take the hanging shelves down while towing the camper.

    • 2

Hang lightweight storage bags from the ceiling with small hooks. Screw the hooks up to one-half inch deep into the camper ceiling. Insert an anchor to hold slightly heavier items.

    • 3

Hang storage bins by attaching one side of a snap fastener to the bin and the other side to the camper ceiling. Install at least four snaps per bin. Snap the storage bins in place when you are ready to use them, and take them down to store while traveling.

Temporarily hang storage bins from the camper ceiling or walls with repositionable adhesive hooks. Use the hooks for an entire camping season, or apply them to new places each time you go camping.

Fasten drawer pulls into the ceiling or on the wall to hang storage bins in your camper. Insert the screws no more than one-half inch deep into the ceiling. Secure the storage bins to the drawer pulls to use while camping.
