1
Sand any spots on the paddle that have become worn, nicked or scratched until they are smooth. Start with the 100-grit sandpaper, then finish with the 150-grit sandpaper. Sand until any discoloration has been removed.
-
2
Wipe the sanded areas with the damp wash cloth. Use the sponge to apply the first coat of Marine grade polyurethane. Use the 150-grit sandpaper to remove any rough spots. Wipe, coat, sand and repeat until all the spots as shiny as the original paddle. Bad spots may require an extra coat. No more than two extra coats should need to be applied.

3
Touch up any remaining rough spots with the 150-grit sandpaper after allowing the polyurethane to dry completely.
