Design the wall as you desire it to be. There are many designs available online if you search for them. Find one that appeals to you and you will develop your skills in the direction that you want them to go.

Build the frame for the wall, being careful to make it sturdy and strong. It is always a good idea to make a linkage to be able to top rope a difficult section of the wall.

Begin placing the base wall on the frame. These will normally be full sheets of 3/4- to 1-inch plywood. Make sure they are bolted into the frame securely. You don't want them falling off with you on them.

Place the holds that you have purchased in a pattern that will challenge your skills. You can create a warm-up section, a challenging section that you will workout on routinely and an impossible section that you only dream of being able to achieve. Remember, after you have a wall that you can conquer most of the time, you will be able to build a completely new one just by changing the placement of the holds and the types of holds.
