How to Fish With Raisins

Anglers sometimes use raisins combined with other baits that attract fish. Many angers mix a few ingredients, including the raisins, in a food processor and then heat the mixture on the stove. The mixture is then formed into balls and placed on lures. Some of the ingredients used to make the balls include Parmesan cheese, corn syrup, brown sugar and flour. Other anglers use whole raisins to lock onto a fish.

Instructions

    • 1

Hook raisins on to a wedding band fishing lure. Raisins are difficult to detect by fish if you are using a plain hook. Wedding bands have bright plastic balls that resemble eggs and will attract the fish.

    • 2

Alternate raisins and power bait or corn on a hook if you aren't using a wedding band. These bright baits will attract the fish and the power bait is particularly handy at releasing scents that attract fish.

Ensure you cover the hook with the raisins, but don't use raisins that are too thick if you are fishing for fish smaller than 1.5 pounds. The raisins may block the fish's mouth from hooking onto the lure.
