How to Make Rubber Rice for Carp Fishing

People often consider carp trash fish even though they are a delicacy in some parts of the world. Carp are also considered sporting fish because they are challenging to catch on hook and line and put up a strong fight. Fishermen use a variety of bait to lure carp, including rice. But in order to use rice to catch carp, anglers must make it rubbery and able to stay on the hook.

Instructions

    • 1

Grab a large-sized pot, pour 6 cups of water into it and place it on the stove. Heat the water until it boils.

    • 2

Turn off the heat once the water boils.

    • 3

Pour 24 ounces of instant rice into the boiling water.

    • 4

Pour a 16-ounce box of instant potatoes into the rice and water.

    • 5

Drop 2 cups of wheat bran into the mixture.

    • 6

Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of vanilla extract.

    • 7

      Mix the ingredients together.

    • 8

Allow the mixture to cool and set up for 30 minutes or so.

    • 9

Grab a scoop of the rice mixture and mold it into a ball that is just smaller than a golf ball. If the ball stays together, the mixture is ready to use for fishing. If it falls apart when you try forming it into a ball, allow it to sit for a few more minutes then try again.
