How to Remove an Easton SE16 Blade
In the rough and tumble of hockey it's not unusual for a hockey stick to be broken. And it's the blade of a hockey stick that takes some of the most severe punishment. That's why many manufacturers, like Easton, make sticks with replaceable blades. The Easton SE16 hockey stick is made from composite materials and is equipped with a blade that you can remove and replace. This means you can spend more time skating and less time shopping for a new stick. Best of all, you'll save some money, too.

1
Put on a pair of leather or heavy fabric work gloves.
-
2
Place the handle of the hockey stick into a vise. Tighten the vise so it holds the stick firmly in position, but not so tightly that it bows or distorts the handle.
-
3
Direct the flow of air from a hot-air gun onto the hosel of the stick. This is the point where the blade is inserted into the stick. Move the flow of air around the stick to heat all sides evenly.
-
4
Pull firmly on the blade with your gloved hand when the bead of glue visible at the hosel starts to soften and bubble. The blade will slide off.
