How to Adjust Bladerunner Ice Skates

If you are tired of buying new ice skates every season as your child's feet grow, then Bladerunners are for you. Bladerunner makes a wide range of skates for boys and girls. The brand has a unique feature, an adjustable toe piece, that allows you to expand the skate by up to four shoe sizes.

Instructions

    • 1

Release the top buckle of the skate by placing your finger underneath the end that faces the outside of the foot. Pull the buckle up and release the strap.

    • 2

Pull the end of the Velcro power strap that faces the outside of the foot towards the instep to release the strap.

    • 3

Lay the skate down with the instep resting on your working surface. Locate the adjustment button on the side of the sole near the toe. Press the button in.

    • 4

Hold the heel firmly in one hand and pull the toe piece out with the other hand. There are numbers on the toe which correspond the the four shoe sizes available for your skate. An arrow on the sole will point to the size as you pull out the toe.

    • 5

Pull the toe forward or backward until the arrow points to the proper size. Each time you move the arrow into the next size, the button will pop out. If you wish to increase the skate by more than one size, press the button in again and pull the skate out farther. Keep pressing the button in and moving the toe piece into the slots until you find the correct size.

Insert your child's foot into the skate. Pull the laces tight and tie them at the top of the skate. Pull the Velcro power strap over and secure. Pull the buckle taught and press it down to lock it in place. Check the sizing of the skate to make sure it feels right to your child. Adjust if necessary.
