Tips For the 2007 Honda AquaTrax F-12
-
The Engine
-
The marine-duty four-stroke engine Honda used in 2007's AquaTrax F-12 delivers both speed and high-quality performance, with Off-Road.com saying the engine features "amazing power." Honda didn't bother with a gear-reduction system, instead opting to tune the AquaTrax F-12 for ultimate performance. With such power, the F-12 may not be the best choice for novice jet ski riders or children. The F-12 is better suited for those specifically looking for a powerful jet ski with high performance standards. If an inexperienced rider is going to ride it, the owner can easily limit the F-12's maximum speed with the AquaTrax's Limit Mode, designed for novice riders. Even so, the AquaTrax F-12 is only recommended for riders at least 16 years old.
Differences Between Versions
-
If you're in the market for a 2007 AquaTrax F-12, keep in mind that there are two different versions of this jet ski. In addition to the standard AquaTrax F-12, Honda released the more powerful AquaTrax F-12X. The easiest way to tell the two apart is by color, with the normal F-12 featuring a white hull while the F-12X's hull is black. While both versions feature the same 1,235-cubic-centimeter inline four-cylinder engines, the F-12X engine includes an inter-cooled turbocharger, which gives the engine 32 percent more power. F-12X riders can also worry less, with the included electronic control unit designed for monitoring the F-12X's engine speed, cylinder temperature and boost speed.
Maintenance and Care
-
To ensure that you're enjoying your 2007 AquaTrax F-12 for years to come, it's important to keep it well maintained. While it may sound pointless to wash a vehicle used in water, washing the vehicle after every use is especially important when riding it in salt water. The salt water could easily build up and eventually begin hindering performance, so make sure you clean the interior of the Jet Ski. When you're not using the F-12, it should be stored indoors to prevent sun damage. Honda sells a jet ski cover specifically designed to fit over the F-12; while a generic one performs the same function, it may not fit as well.
