1
Take pictures of the kayak from the front, back, underside and both sides. The pictures should be very clear and should show accurately the condition of the kayak. Also, take pictures of any accessories that you are offering with the kayak.
-
2
Determine the price that you are going to sell your Mokai kayak for. A 2010 Mokai kayak costs $3500. Since there is no way of accurately assessing how a kayak would depreciate in value, you are going to have make an educated judgment on what your Mokai is worth. Determine the price based on the condition, age and accessories of the kayak. Research some websites of Mokai kayak sellers in your area and see what prices they are charging. This should give you some idea of what a Mokai in good condition should sell for.
-
3
Sign up with an online auction or individual sales website. Websites such as eBay and Craigslist are most popular (as of 2010). Signing up as a seller with an auction site is as simple as entering your name, email address, phone number and other requested information and posting your product listing and images to the site.
-
4
Post your Mokai kayak pictures to the auction site by connecting your digital camera to the computer and uploading the pictures (which should be done automatically once you connect). Attach the picture files to the website. The site should have thorough instructions on how this is done.
-
5
Advertise the kayak by stating succinctly what it is. Your selling title should be something like "2005 Mokai Kayak, Great Condition, with Accessories." Also, type a thorough description of its condition and features. List and describe the accessories that you may be including as these would be a selling point that might help make your ad stand out.
-
6
Research shipping costs. You will have to include the shipping costs, methods and any limitations in your advertisement. Since a Mokai kayak is an oversized object, shipping will be more expensive. Call the major shippers (UPS, FedEx and USPS) and ask what shipping would cost in general for the kayak. You may also want to consider meeting the buyer in person at an agreed-upon location to make the sale, if you are selling it on a personal site.
-
7
Check the website that you are selling the kayak on daily. If you receive a buyer, follow through with the process as instructed by the site.
