How to Adjust the Screw Front Derailleur on a Cannondale Rush

Cannondale mountain bikes are known and easily identifiable by their large aluminum tubing. The Cannondale Rush series consists of dual-suspension mountain bikes designed with Shimano components. The Rush has Shimano top swing front derailleurs that are adjusted using a shifter dial or the two alignment screws on the derailleur itself. Use the two set screws on the derailleur to align the device with the drivetrain and prevent chain rub on the derailleur guide.

Set the Rush against a wall or rack. If you have a bicycle work stand, put it in the stand. Turn the pedals and watch the chain and the front derailleur; pay attention to what side of the derailleur chain guide the chain rubs against.

Turn the small set screws on the top of the derailleur using the screwdriver in 1/4 turn increments. Turn clockwise to push the derailleur guide to the right or counterclockwise to move it to the left.

Turn the pedals after each adjustment and watch how the chain moves in relation to the guard. Continue to make the adjustments until all chain rub is eliminated from the derailleur.
