What Do You Use to Remove Stickers From a Bike?

Stickers may seem nice at the time to apply to your bike, but in a few year--in retrospect--you may wish to remove them. If they have become weathered over the years, this will aid you in your efforts. Exposed areas will help as well as it will help you get a grip on the sticker for removal.
  1. What Do You Use to Remove Stickers From a Bike?

    • Pull the sticker off of the bike. Use a substance to remove the sticker residue. Goo Gone is available at most hardware and craft stores and is the best to remove the sticky residue. There are other useful household substances that dissolve the sticky residue: nail polish remover, petroleum jelly, mineral oil, rubbing alcohol, windex, WD-40, paint thinner and the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Be warned though about the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser though; it is mostly a very fine abrasive and may sand down the paint under the sticker.

If the first method of removing the sticky residue does not work, try the next until you have exhausted all options. Goo Gone is the most efficient compared with the others as it is manufactured with sticky residue removal in mind.

If all else fails, take a strip of duct tape and lightly press it onto the sticky residue and then pull it from the residue quickly. Do this over and over again until you remove the sticky residue.
