Fastest Way to Make Goal Lines

Few activities create the energy and exercise from a game of soccer, football or baseball during the warm months of the year. With a few good friends and a little ingenuity, you can create a quick field in order to fully enjoy the game of your choice. Different sports need boundaries and outlines to determine yards, point systems and goal boxes. For example, a baseball field has a diamond shape, whereas football and soccer have rectangular fields. There are several ways that you can create quick goal lines.
  1. Cones

    • Cones are an ideal goal marker because they are light and compact and you can keep them in your car all the time. Set up four cones, one for each side of the goal, to mark out the goal lines. There are several sizes and colors of cones available for purchase, but they should be large enough and bright enough that you can see them clearly.

    Stakes

    • Stakes are a practical way to mark the goal lines because of their resistance to fall over with a gust of wind. They are also easy on the wallet, and small enough to be carried in your car all the time. If you have an earth tone color stake, you can tie a brightly colored piece of fabric or plastic tape around the top to show the stake more clearly.

    Flag tape

    • Flag tape can be used in a variety of ways to make goal lines from using a small piece to show the corners of the goals, or held in place with a weighted item, such as a rock, in order to outline the entire goal area. If there are no rocks around, but strong sticks, you can use the sticks as stakes to keep the flag tape in place.

    Chalk

    • Chalk is the method used to line professional and amateur fields. There are some chalk dispensers that are more compact than others and will not take up a whole lot of space in your vehicle. You can also keep a bucket of loose chalk in your car and sprinkle it around the goal to line it, but this will make your hands nice and dry.
