1
Train on an elliptical machine for a full-body cross-training workout; many have attached poles to grab onto and exercise your arms. The elliptical can be adjusted so that you can exercise in a forward or backward motion, allowing you to utilize many different muscles in your arms and legs.
-
2
Practice weight training as a cross-training activity to build up your strength. Building up your muscle mass will make your body more powerful; will help you run faster, have better balance and improve your posture; and will help to protect your muscles from injury.
-
3
Work on a stair-stepper machine to strengthen your leg muscles. Maintain good posture by standing up straight and not holding on to the sides of the machine. This will allow you to get the most out of this cardiovascular workout.
-
4
Swim to get a great upper-body cross-training workout. You will be able to build muscle and improve your flexibility by swimming laps in a pool. If you received an injury during handball season, swimming can also be a soothing activity that will relieve tired and sore muscles.
