1
Attach a compressed air tank to the air source adapter of the paintball gun. Compressed air is a more efficient and consistent source of air than CO2 is. The pressure in a CO2 tank can vary according to the temperature of the air and the speed at which the gun is shot, but compressed air stays consistent.

2
Purchase and use fresh, high-quality paintballs. When paintballs become old, they start to form dimples. These dimples can reduce the accuracy of the paintball gun. Newer paintballs will also break less frequently. .
-
3
Clean the paintball gun barrel after every ball break using a barrel squeegee. Failure to clean the barrel in between ball breaks can result in diminished accuracy and more broken balls. Barrel squeegees need to be inserted through one end of the barrel and pulled out the other end.

4
Lubricate all internal seals and moving parts per manufacturer recommendations. Different brands of paintball guns may require different types of oils for different parts. Properly lubricating a paintball gun will prevent premature wear and tear, conserve the air source and increase efficiency.
