1
Disconnect the air source before cleaning or disassembling your paint gun. Use the owner's manual if this is your first time cleaning the gun so you will be able to reassemble the gun after you're finished. Most manuals include assembly diagrams.
-
2
Disassemble the pieces of the paint gun. Use a dry, fabric cloth to wipe the inside of the barrel. Use a moistened paper towel to clean the outside of the barrel. Inspect the gun and use a cotton swab to reach dirty areas that you can't reach with a paper towel.
-
3
Clean each part as thoroughly as possible. Make sure O-rings are in good condition. Cracked or missing O-rings can cause firing problems and should be replaced before use.
-
4
Use paint gun oil on all internal and external parts of the paint gun. Pay attention to O-rings and other small parts as they need lubrication as well. Apply only a light coating to help protect the gun from wear and tear.
-
5
Reassemble the paint gun after you've cleaned it. Follow the instructions in the manual so the gun is assembled correctly.
