1
Verify that the parasailing company uses the correct equipment. Safe parasailing takes place behind a boat that has an engine with at least 90 HP. The company must provide a body harness, a canopy for the start and a towline. In addition, safe parasailing requires an experienced boat driver, a skilled observer and a ground crew.
-
2
Practice good parasailing safety when you ensure there are no obstructions in your take-off path. Some obstructions include, trees, other boats and mountains.
-
3
Wear protective parasailing equipment to increase your safety. All parasailing participants need to wear life jackets to prevent drowning and helmets to prevent head injuries.
-
4
Observe the weather conditions. Strong winds must be in place to safely parasail. The weather must not be severe or include lightening.
-
5
Inspect all equipment just before take-off. The parasailing company must ensure that each component works properly before take-off. Do not proceed with your parasailing experience until they do so.
