How to Make a Ping Pong Paddle Sticky
Ping pong is a pastime for some, a serious endeavor for others. If you take it seriously, you know how expensive equipment can be. High-quality ping pong paddles have sticky rubber surfaces for increased friction. Over time, the rubber loses its tackiness. But rather than buy new paddles, you can do some work on your own to make your old ones sticky again.

1
Fill your sink with warm, soapy water. Place your paddle in the water and wipe the rubber areas with a sponge, removing any grime.
-
2
Remove the paddle and dry it thoroughly with a towel.
-
3
Set the paddle on a clean surface and let it air dry.
-
4
Cover the rubber surface of the paddle with strips of duct tape. Make sure the tape touches only the rubber sheet. Leave about an inch of loose tape along the edges for easy removal.
-
5
Wait one hour. Carefully remove the tape, strip by strip. Your paddle's stickiness should now be restored.
