Forehand Fishing

Forehand Fishing

This shot is called fishing. It is also a defensive shot designed to keep yourself in the point until you can regain the upper hand. It is similar to a lob but not as high and it depends mostly on placement to keep the opponent from being able to put the ball away.

Carefully guide the ping pong ball over. You don't need to generate much power. Focus on placement and as soon as you have forced the weaker shot, move in and attack.
