How to Split a Long Outdoor Table
Outdoor tables such as picnic tables are versatile for dining or recreational purposes. If you have a long outdoor table, you can split it to make two smaller tables that are easier to move. Before you saw the long table, take the time to determine where the cut should go to make sound and stable smaller tables.
Things You'll Need

1
Look over the table and find the center supports. For example, if your outdoor table has a set of legs on each end, and two other sets of supports along the middle of the table, mark the area to cut so each half has two sets of two legs. This makes two fully supported smaller tables.

2
Place the straight edge on top of the table and draw a straight line where you will cut to split the long table into two.
-
3
Put on the eye goggles and work gloves. Using the power saw, cut the table in two. Make the cut as clean and straight as possible.
-
4
Sand the sawed edges to smooth them and reduce slivers and wood splinters.
