Begin your tubing adventure on the Russel Fork River. Known as the Grand Canyon of the south, this river is located on the Kentucky and Virginia border in the Breaks Interstate Park. The largest canyon east of the Mississippi River, the river stretches through the gorge in pools, twists and rapids. The scenery along the river is breathtaking and gives great views of native southern trees with fabulous shows of color in the fall. Access the river southeast of Elkhorn City at the intersection of State Highway 197 and State Highway 80.

Take a slower pace on the Green River. The Green River is located in south central Kentucky and runs east to west through the Mammoth Cave National Park and then meets the Ohio River. There are great camping sights along the way and tremendous views of Kentucky Cave country. Do the entire 111 miles in about seven to nine days by beginning at the Corps of Engineers boat ramp at the base of the dam on Green Lake. Shorten the trip by putting in at the Greensburg American Legion Park.
