1
Find a mounting bracket that will fit your lock. To know whether a bracket will fit your lock, either bring it to the bike store or let the mechanics at the store know what type of lock you have. The Kryptonite EZ Lock bracket fits 13 mm and 16 mm round shackle locks.

2
Pick a place on the frame where the lock will not get in the way of your legs or the bike's movement. If you have a bike with a horizontal top tube, you may be able to mount the lock under the top tube. For women's bikes, mounting on the down tube may be a better choice.

3
Install the bracket using the instructions on the package. Some brackets, such as the Kryptonite EZ lock, attach to the bike frame using a strap, while others come with nuts and bolts. You can also have the bracket installed at the bike store.
-
4
Ease your lock into the bracket carefully whenever you set out on your bike. Though the bracket probably won't fall off the bike, the plastic part that holds the lock in place can break easily.
