What Is the Difference Between a Schwinn Breeze & Breeze Deluxe?
-
Production
-
Between the Schwinn Breeze and Schwinn Deluxe Breeze, the Deluxe Breeze is the older bike. According to Re-Cycle, an online biking resource, the Deluxe Breeze went into production in 1966. Its little sister, the Breeze, didn't come along until 1968. Schwinn discontinued both lines in 1972.
Colors
-
The Schwinn Deluxe Breeze came in three color selections: Coppertone, Sky Blue and Violet. The Schwinn Breeze came in a selection of red, black or Sky Blue.
Fenders
-
The Schwinn Breeze and Breeze Deluxe both came with fenders as a standard feature. The Deluxe Breeze, however, came with chrome-plated fenders. The Schwinn Breeze came with fenders painted in the same color as the rest of the bike.
Gears, Breaking Configurations and Price
-
The Schwinn Breeze and Breeze Deluxe both came in either fixed, 2-speed or 3-speed models. Hand brakes could be had on either the Breeze or Breeze Deluxe, but only in 3-speed. The Breeze also offered the option of a 3-speed bike with coaster brakes. The Breeze Deluxe did not offer this configuration. The Breeze Deluxe was also priced a few dollars higher in each of the braking/speed configurations than the Breeze.
