SCUBA Dive Shops in Massachusetts

With a stretch of coastline that reaches into the northeastern Atlantic Ocean, Massachusetts residents have access to plenty of water-based recreation. There are quite a few notable dive shops in the state that offer gear sales and rentals plus expert training.   1. Mass Diving

    • Opened in 1988, Mass Diving is a five-star dive shop and travel center that certifies new divers and acts as a travel center, arranging dive trips to scuba hot spots around the world. Associated with the Professional Association of Dive Instructors (PADI), Mass Diving also oversees excursions closer to home, leading trips to dive spots off the Massachusetts coast. Located in Natick, Mass offers PADI-approved courses, from snorkeling basics to advanced training for specialty diving like Night and Ice Dives.     Burlington Scuba

    • Burlington Scuba offers top-level dive education and gear from the best names in the business, such as Aqua-lung and Atomic. Aligned with Scuba Schools International (SSI), students are led through a course of dive instruction over a two-day, two-night class schedule. Private one-on-one lessons are available for an additional charge. Burlington also sponsors the Burlington Dive Club, a group that makes dive trips to some of the sport's most popular sites.

    South Shore

    • Another five-star PADI affiliate, South Shore Divers lets Weymouth residents get their feet wet through a PADI-approved scuba diving curriculum that culminates with the Open Water certification. Offering products from Genesis, Mares, Cressi and Henderson, South Shore has served area divers since 1951. Several services are also offered, from refilling air tanks with compressed air or Nitrox, to servicing regulators and other pieces of scuba gear.
