How to Use the Diving Bezel
Dive watches come with a bezel on the crown that has markings in one-minute increments spanning from 0 to 60 going all around the dial. Many watches will have alphanumerical digits every 10 markings --- 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50, for example. Some watches will have the alphanumeric markings in increments of 15, such as 15, 30 and 45. The diving bezel is a simple measurement device you can use to time anything from diving to cooking.

Turn the bezel counterclockwise until the "zero" position sits directly over the minute hand.
