How to Drop a Ski-Doo Track

Ski-Doo manufactures snowmobiles that use hard rubber tracks to move the vehicle across the snow. Over time these tracks wear down and need to be dropped, or removed, so new ones can be installed. Physical signs of wearing may include smoothness on the track itself. A loss of traction or pickup may be another sign that it is time to remove the old tracks. A helper or assistant will be helpful to have during this process.

Lean the Ski-Doo over on its side with the help of your assistant.

Remove the front suspension bolts at the front of the track with the socket set. Use the Allen wrench to remove the rear suspension bolts. Slide the suspension system out with the help of your assistant and then flip the Ski-Doo back into its normal resting position.

Slide the sled lift or jack underneath the rear of the Ski-Doo and lift it up.
